1. Basic rules
1.1 These regulations according to rules of Latvian Automobile Federation, Estonian Drift Association and Lithuanian Drift organizer sporting codex determines the rules of 2010 Baltic Drift Championship (here ad after called BaDC) – organisation, regulation for drivers, safety and point giving order. Any changes must be accepted by all three officials from each country.
1.2 Drift is race with the running start and finish in the distance of indefinite length. Drifting is a technique of driving where the driver takes the racing line which gives more speed and possible angle to enslave the vehicle for controllable sideslip. The line is determined by judges in the drivers meeting.
1.3 In any case that are not described in these regulations the decision is made by:
1) Race director, if the case arises during the race;
2) Commission of all three country representatives, if the case arises in any other time.
1.4 The amendments to the regulations must be placed on the official information board of the race.
1.5 It takes minimum 8 participants for the race to take place and score points.
1.6 The BaDC is opened championship to all willing participants.
1.7 The Series fee 35 EUR is required from each participant to pay no later than 2 weeks before the first race. Higher Series fee of 50 EUR is required if the driver fails to pay the Series fee 2 weeks before the first race
1.8 New entries during the season are allowed. The Series fee 50 EUR is required.
2. Organisation of the races
2.1. The races are organised by approved organizers in collaboration with the commission of three Baltic state representatives.
2.2. The race is judged by 3 judges – 1 from each Baltic country – 1 from Lithuania, 1 – Latvia, 1 from Estonia.
2.3. There is 1 country representative from each Baltic country – Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania at each race. Country representative acts in name of organizer and his/her country drivers. Country representative is announced by each country’s commission.
2.4. The criteria of judging are described in Appendix 1 of these supplementary regulations.
2.5. The organiser of the race must have the rules of race ready and published minimum 1 month prior the race.
2.6. The rules of the race must include the daily schedule, principles of the race, positions and names of the race officials (also contact numbers of the race director) and the track layout.
2.7. The track layout must be approved by all three country representatives before the race starts.
2.8. The organiser has to provide likely equivalent circumstances on the track for each participant.
2.9. The organizer must provide the presence of ambulance and fire department, starting from official trainings until the last twin battle finish. No racing cars on track allowed if absent.
3. Calendar and places of the races
3.1. BaDC takes place in the tracks approved by Commission of all three Baltic state representatives and according to the schedule, that shall be published no later than 1st of March 2010.
3.2. The races take place in the closed tracks. No admittance of unapproved personnel during the race is allowed.
3.3. The safety of the track must be approved on the place by all tree Country representatives. Otherwise the race cannot take place.
3.4. The track layout must be included in the rules of the race. The track layout must be published on the official information board of the race.
3.5. The training and qualifying runs must start on time unless there are circumstances that do not allow starting on time. The circumstances must be announced to Country representatives as soon as possible.
3.6. The start list must be published on the official info board no later then the start of qualification.
4. Participants
4.1. To enter the BPDC participant must be a holder of a Pro driver licence that is approved /given by the participant’s homeland drifting association/federation.
4.2. The participant cannot be under influence of alcohol or any other drugs. The penalty for non-observance of this rule is elimination from race and loosing the licence.
4.3. The participant’s health must be appropriate and can not endanger any other participants nor organizer’s health or property.
5. Vehicles, equipment of the driver
5.1. Only RWD vehicles are allowed to enter BaDC.
5.2. All vehicles must meet the „Technical rules of 2010 Baltic Drift Championship”. The technical rules of BaDC are Appendix 2 of these regulations.
5.3. No more than 1 participant per vehicle allowed.
5.4. With the permission of Race director the participant’s vehicle can be changed to different one. The other car must be announced and manifested to Technical inspection before the race. The participant must have at least 1 training lap with the other car. No time extensions of training time will be given for this.
5.5. The safety equipment is checked at the Technical inspection. Technical inspector has all rights to check the safety equipment of any participant at any moment during the race.
5.6. There should be articulate participant’s name and the flag of represented country on the participant’s vehicle.
5.7. During drift race the participant must be strapped with safety harnesses and strapped helmet on. The penalty for non-observance of this rule is elimination from run.
5.8. The starting numbers are given for whole season following:
a) Lithuania: 100s (101, 102 ect)
b) Latvia: 200s (201, 202 ect.)
c) Estonia 300s (301, 302 ect.)
d)Other countries: 400 (401, 402 ect.)
5.9. The participant must present the car to Technical inspection in the time given in the Official Daily schedule. If the vehicle does not comply to „Technical rules of 2010 Baltic Drift Championship” the Technical inspector can forbid the participation in the race.
5.10. If the vehicle of participant does not comply to the rules, it is allowed to eliminate the defects and to pass the inspection again. If the vehicle still does not comply to „Technical rules of 2010 Baltic Drift Championship” the participant must leave the service area and is not allowed to participate.
5.11. After each crash the Technical inspector is checking the safety of the vehicle in order to allow/forbid continuance the race.
5.12. If the technical issue arises during the qualification run or twin battle, the participant is given 5 minute technical brake to fix the car (broken tire ect.) The time is fixed from the moment the participant tells the race director/judge of participants that he needs a technical break and enters the service area. If participant fails to continue the race in 5 minute time, he is not allowed to continue.
6. Regulations of events
6.1. Registration to event
6.1.1. The participants must register and present a car in the time provided in Daily schedule. The participant must declare following documents and provide following at each race:
a) Registration certificate of the vehicle
b) Pro drift licence
c) Entry fee of 50 EUR (it includes 5 entry bracelets, race car and service car entry).
d) Team registration form (if necessary)
e) Team representative (if necessary)
6.2. Driver meeting
6.2.1. The presence of the driver at the driver meeting is obligatory. Non-observance of this rule is elimination from the race.
6.2.2. The participants/drivers will be told about the judging of the race and procedures of the race during the drivers meeting.
6.3. Qualification runs
6.3.1. The judged run starts when the vehicle crosses the starting line told by judges in the drivers meeting and finishes, when the vehicle crosses the finish line. The participant/driver must slow the car down after the finish. If the vehicle is still drifting after the finish line, the Race director decides about the penalty – either money fine either elimination from the race.
6.3.2. The participants are given 2 or more qualification runs, where the best run is counted. The table of twin battles is made according to the scheme based on qualification.
6.4.Service area (Pit Lane) – no alcohol allowed in the pit lane what so ever. There will be separate smoking area provided in the Service area.

8. Teams
8.1. To enter the team to BaDC no additional fee is required.
8.2. There are minimum of 2, maximum 4 participants in each team.
8.3. The results in the team points are counted from best 2 participants from the team.
8.4. The team gains as much points as the total sum of points gained from 2 best driver results in the team.
8.5. If the points of the teams are equal, the higher place is given to the team which driver has higher individual result.
8.6. If the results of the teams in the season 2010 are equal, the higher place is given to the team that gained higher place in the last race of the season.
9. Results
9.1. The results of the race are based on the judging principles of drifting (appendix 1).
9.2. The points are given to the TOP 16 qualified participants in each race.
9.3. If the participant number is less than 16, the TOP 8 are nominated.
9.4. From 5th – 16th place the points are given basing on the qualification place.
9.5. The Series fee paid by each participant and team before the Season’s start will be given to the overall winner of 2010 season.
9.6. The Entry fee of each event is collected and given to the first 4 places of each race.
10. Protests
10.1. The participant may apply with the protest.
10.2. The fee to apply a protest – 200.00 EUR.
10.3. The protest may concern:
a) The accordance of the race to these regulations,
b) The accordance of the allowed vehicles.
10.4. The protest may not involve judging of the runs.
10.5. If the protest is satisfied, then the money is returned to the participant that applied with the protest.
